Don't go chasing waterfalls...
Nicole Kidman's most recent pregnancy came to her like a flash flood. Seemingly, nine months before her water breaks, she hopped into some Australian waterfalls and BANG, she was pregnant. Read all about how she's got a full tank here http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/09/24/kidman.fertile.water.ap/index.html?iref=mpstoryview

I am pregnant with anticipation. Long story short, I've been unemployed for OVER two months now. For those of us who have bills to pay, that means I'm past due. I was supposed to hear back from an org., that shall remain undisclosed, today! We'll, its past working hours and a Friday, to boot. I just went on a run because I'd built up tons of nervous energy today, fretting about their decision. Thing is, I don't have any more input. After three interviews and an assignment, I'm done. I need to give it up, birth this sucker and wait to see if its a shining star or not. That's my goal for this weekend since I can't do anything right now. I REALLY want this job, in particular, but I can't hire myself so I just have to relax into it with the confidence that I've done my best and that I'm qualified. Its true, I am.BTW, the green baby is at the top of this post because the organization I so long to work for is an environmental non-profit. Hence, the green baby of environmental justice.

So this afternoon I cut open a yellow bell pepper to find another, smaller green one, inside. It looked a little like this (but yellow):
So, I decided that in a world so full of pregnant things (men, women, pauses) there ought to be a blog dedicated to documenting them. I also have long been interested in gravida, since the days when I dreamt I'd be the mother of the baby who'd save the world from environmental destruction. In a strange turn of events, it was also green, like the wee babe I found in today's pepper.
I'm not quite sure where this blog may take me but I think it will be fun to explore the world around me through the lens of "things that are pregnant."

Remember that Bill Cosby episode where he's pregnant? I think he gives birth to a sub sandwich...Oh, men and their babies! Along those same lines, I also think men might give birth to TVs or wiis.
But seriously, I'm not the kind of pregnancy-obsessed woman who is excited about the baby shower and worries about getting fat. I think it is really the coolest thing I could ever do. It kind of blows my mind to think about it...in a few years. No worries. This has little to do with my own reproduction. I just want to talk about others'.
